We have taken some photos of "Desperate Housewives - Season Seven".
They represent actual movie quality.
Desperate Housewives is one of those programes where you envy the livesof others...My mum started watching this from season 1 and I was only about 12 so Ididn't understand it and therefore hated it. By season 4 it appeared tobe the only good programme on at the time and I warmed up to it reallyquickly picking up on the adult humor. The characters have such greatchemistry together! There's always one who you can relate to yourself,in some cases I can imagine them being quite iconic to housewivesalike. After backtracking to season one Season one is brilliant, but the story is too consistent on Zac Young..(8/10) Season two is even better, much more modern and classy.. (9/10)Season three deals with more personal and mature issues but at the sametime keeps it interesting and fun to watch.. (8/10) Season four is verysimilar to the first season in some ways but has a lighter tone foryounger viewers (8/10) Season five is good, but not amazing, theepisodes have clearly been on a small budget but don't let it put youoff.. (6/10)
Here it is! The best show to hit the prime time dial in years! TeriHatcher, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, Nicolette Sheridan, and JamesDenton create the most bizarre and un believably satirical world ofWisteria Lane, a beautiful neighborhood with beautiful woman, eachlives the perfect life...on the outside! Matching "American Beauty"with "Melrose Place", this fresh, raunchy, and intelligent showrevolves around four women who begin uncovering a series of mysterieswhen their best friend commits suicide. Susan Mayer(Teri Hatcher) is aStriking, chirpy woman with a beautiful daughter and a great romancewith Mike Delfino(James Denton), but her flaw of natural klutzinessgets her in trouble. Hatcher is irresistibly funny, and bringshysterics to the screen. Bree Van De Camp(Marcia Cross) is thestereotypical "Stepford" wife who brings jealousy to the most sweetestof ladies with her perfect life, blue flowers, smart kids, andexceptional marriage...RIGHT! Her life consists of struggling to retainher marriage, or lack there of. Her children hate her most of the time, and her husband can't stand her perfection. Cross is remarkablypowerful in performance, and displays witty charm, and howlinglyhilarious reactions to the events surrounding her. Not to mention beinggorgeous beyond belief! Lynette Scavo(Felicity Huffman) gets the mostsympathy from us as the successful woman, on her way to becoming themost powerful woman in business, and then pregnancy after pregnancytakes it all away. Now, she struggles with the most out-of-controlchildren in television history, and a husband who just doesn't get it,or any thing else! Huffman is exceptional in this role, and deservesthe recognition for her efforts. She gains so much sympathy when shebreaks on children's medication, Lynette is one most people would loveto sit and "bitch" with, I know I would. Next is Gabrielle Solis(EvaLongoria), the perfect woman, the rich marriage the most dreaming lifeof the block...AS IF! She sleeps with teens, and worms her way in andout of situations both good and bad, but she has her funny moments.Longoria is predictably slutty temptress, with minor qualities toredeem, so far. With a little learning for Gabrielle, we might see morethan pretty faces with Mrs. Solis, but Longoria is alright. Last, butNEVER least, is Edie Britt(Nicolette Sheridan), a man-hungry woman witha wip and handcuffs! She will walk all over you to get to your man!Watch out for Edie! Sheridan is just right for this caustic, littlesexy villainess of the street. Yes, all the women shine in their gloryof the show! Better than anything else on TV right now, and probably inthe future, "Desperate Housewives" will satisfy to the very touch ofperfection, and beyond! Marc Cherry has created a masterpiece with thisone! Thank the almighty for this one coming to the TV screen! May we beblessed with this show for many, many years to come!!!!! A perfect10/10, 100% brilliant!
Gabrielle said a comment that made me very disappointed in her. I havewatched Desperate Housewives and sometimes they have shows that have agood moral to it and sometimes are funny. It is, I think, very wellwritten. But over the past couple of episodes, I have beendisappointed. When Gabrielle said that virginity went out of style inthe 1950's, I wanted to tell her that I hope she knows she justconvinced a lot of teenagers to go and commit adultery. Living in thisworld is already hard enough with all of the pornography and drugs outthere, we do not need someone encouraging people that they would becool if they were not a virgin. I am only 15 and I wanted to tell youthat I will always be a virgin until I am married. That comment thatshe made has a huge impact on this world, and it is not a good one. Iknow it will cause a lot of sorrow in this world with the peoplebecause they will find out it will not bring happiness. I will neverwatch Desperate Housewives again unless you take that comment back!
i have just received DH season 2 for Christmas and even though i haveonly seen one episode, i find myself rolling around laughing. Myfavorite line is when Andrew finds his dad's old magazines:Phyllis: "I even kept the dirty magazine that he hid under hismattress. He didn't think I knew about it, but I did."Andrew:"Well, looks like dad was into big breasts." Phyllis: "Oh, yes. That's why I was surprised when he married your mother." so funny! this is why i live the show so much, it's so cleverlywritten, comedy mixed with drama mixed with suspense mixed with murder!its a great combo!! what do you think?
I was looking forward to the premiere after reading various reviews, especially those that called this show "Cable Worthy". That says a lotconsidering I practically just watch cable networks. I was notdisappointed. The cast is awesome, the writing is smart, the look anddesign impeccable. Teri Hatcher is HOT, Felicity is an incredibleactress who can play ANY part. Plus, Danny Elfman's theme transportsyou to this interesting and smart suburban neighborhood. Along with'LOST' ABC better back these shows with all they can. I don't want tosee these networks disappear, and with great shows like these, theylikely will. Watch it!! It's fun. THANKS!
Think of the perfect place to live. A seemingly perfect suburbia wherethe lawns are beautifully maintained, the neighbors say hello and wherepeople can finally live their happily ever afters. If this is yourimage of the perfect place to live, then you're dead wrong.Desperate Housewives is one of the biggest surprise television programsof the new millennium. You might think that Desperate Housewives isjust another Sex and the City rip-off but you're wrong. It's a showabout a group of close-knit housewives who live in an idyllic suburbiawhose lives come crashing down when one of there very own friendsmysteriously commits suicide. With there already hectic lives andimperfect romances, they're about to realize that there is much moregoing on beneath the surface.Who are the housewives? Well there's..Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross). A woman who seems to have the perfectlife whose really just hiding her pain. Behind her seemingly perfectfamily, house, lawn and stunning features is a woman in pain. She's afighter and if there's one character who I have to give props in thecharacter development it's defiantly Bree.Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher). All Susan is trying to do is to find love. With an ugly divorce and an on-and-off relationship with the mysteriousneighborhood hunk, Susan is pretty skeptical when it comes to love.Although clumsy at times, Susan is a lovable woman whose just trying tofind a man.Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman). Trying to balance work and family isnever easy. No one knows this better then Lynette Scavo. Whether thetrouble be with work, her family, or personal problems, Lynette is thehousewife that most mothers can relate to.Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker). What are some things to describeGabrielle Solis? You could say young, beautiful, rich and glamorous butthere's much more to her then just that. She might be shallow and highmaintenance but beneath her is a struggling woman whose life isn't asglamorous.Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan). Edie Britt is not one who will breakbread with the other housewives. She's a mean tramp who will doanything to get what she wants. Behind her mean personality is a womanwith a fear and that is being alone. There is a sympathetic side to herbut in the meantime she's the one who will keep the other housewives ontheir toes.Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany). Behind Katherine's pretty face is adark past. Although she might seem cold at times, Katherine is a lotlike Bree. Katherine is just a woman looking for a normal life from hermysterious past. I'd have to say she is one of the strongest housewiveswho will go to extreme lengths to protect her daughter. And of course there's..Mary-Alice Young (Brenda Strong). Mary-Alice isthe heart of the show. Although she is dead, she looks down on herfriends. She is the narrator of the show with the darkest and mosttwisted secrets of all. Taking her life in the very first episode, sheis the definition of desperate.Desperate Housewives has come a long way since it first premiered in2004. It's an excellent combination of comedy, drama, crime, mysteryand romance with lots of symbolism. It's enjoyable for both sexes andis a hoot to watch. It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry and it'llleave you on the edge of your seat.
This show is a fantastic example of style over substance and how peoplewill buy into anything that looks pretty and reads dramatically, nomatter how truly ridiculous it is. I watched the first four episodes ofthis show with a grain of salt and an open mind because I was hopingfor something innovative and cutting edge. What did I see? An awkwardhybrid of American Beauty, Twin Peaks, and dashes of Sex and the City.On paper that combination of shows doesn't look all that bad and evenseems intriguing; in real life it is thoroughly unsuccessful due tostagnant writing that centers around suburban lies, affairs, andsecrets. I no longer watch the show because the show itself doesn'treally know what it is. Is it a drama? Is it a comedy? You would thinkit would be considered a drama by looking at the infidelity, secrets, lying, marital problems, drug addiction, etc. that goes on the show. But, no, what is this? Slapstick humor. Yes, you read right. Peoplefall through floors, get caught in "awkward" situations, and say cutelittle lines of dialogue. Please, this show would be entirely betterwithout all of the flirts with juvenile humor. The cast is composed of beautiful, albeit washed-up actresses. Theproblem I have with the show is that it makes all characters, males andfemales, very stereotypical people. All we need is a old Chinese manwith a long mustache, a kimono, and sandals and the cast would becomplete. You can tell when writing is weak when writers have to turnto types to fill in personalities.27 million people watch this show, but why? What is so grand about it?A small number of men watch it for women who prance around in lingerieand a majority of women watch it because of the incredibly lame andcliché melodrama that the show constantly bleeds. I won't completelybash the show because it has found a way to be successful, but there isso much better television out there and I suggest for most of thepeople who watch this show to seek out something else that would proveto be more entertaining and entirely more intellectually stimulating.
In Istanbul,Turkey, the show "Desperate Housewives" is published around09:00 pm on Tuesdays. Without giving any useless details lets get tothe point why we are desperate; First of all, a TV show has to havesome ups and downs. ( I mean with tension ) Sometimes you have to getbored of couple of shows with the series. Then, you would be excited tosee what will happen next. But in "D.H." every show is full of tension. You have no single second to rest. And secondly, every episode isunluckily gripping that you start praying for the show not to end. As aresult I would like to say I hate the cast, the producers and everyonewho contributed in the making of this show since they created a"Desperate" fan.
I think that it is unfair to compare the two since they are verydifferent. Some one had said that they liked Sex in the City better than thisshow, and that's fine. I think that the reason may be linked toidentifying with the characters more. This show is about more of asettled woman than of one that is single and free. These are verydifferent kinds of woman.I'm find it very courageous that ABC is putting this show out there, especially with the morality, righteousness, and sanctimony that thiscountry is floundering in. If a comparison is needed, compare it toother night time soaps like Dallas, Knots Landing, or Melrose Place, and in truth it's not even that much racier than any of those that hadpreceded it. This is much more of a night time soap opera with a littlemystery thrown in (like who shot JR) than a dramedy with a very whinnylead character with a me-syndrome. Don't get me wrong, Sex in the Citywas a fun show with interesting characters. This is another fun, throwaway that is nice break from all that reality TV programming.
Now that the second season is concluding, I want to say that I HATEthis show, which gives off a bad vibe spreading like a plague. Thanksto Marc Cherry, we will be living with these dumbfounded housewives forthe next few years, unless people get their brains checked, which isunlikely to happen! This show is an advocate for woman to watch 4overrated actresses (not including Felicity Huffman, the only good one)to go through all these dumb stories that would better on "Days Of OurLives" I can't stand it, I hate it! Most the cast is really bad too.Especially Marsha Cross, she is so ugly, and her head looks like agolden egg, or something all shiny and tight because she is so stupidand concerned about a single line that she is willing to look inhumanto fix it, and her acting is total crap! Avoid this junk!
This is one of the most original series that I have ever seen. I am nota big fan of "serious" series. I don't like to follow them through anentire season, but if you miss some episodes you might get lost. Iprefer comedies instead. The kind of series that show us the problemwhich is solved during that same episode. But this one is theexception.Although is a drama/comedy/mystery show, it has many more elements. Ithas good plots and sub-plots. But as long as the series goes, you geteven more interested. I really like how well balanced those elementsare. You get to laugh in every episode but you might end up beingintrigued by the mystery within that exactly same episode. I think ithas it all. Even really original characters that are wonderfully playedby the main actresses and actors. I don't think this show is the "onlygirls" type, it might be as entertaining for guys as well.It is certainly enjoyable for everyone. Most will find it appealing inmore than one way.
I used to adore this once-groundbreaking nighttime soap, now, the verythought of it sickens me to NO end! It is a total wreck of a show, thatis also absolutely out of control! When it very first aired, i was soin love with, I was overcome, like the rest of America. The premiere ofthe sharp witty satire was all one could wish, and I was especiallyproud to see women on screen, women who weren't "pop-tarts" or teenagesluts. This great display proved that women, as well as everybody, arealways cool, hip, and sexy, no matter what age. Furthermore, the showhad a nice structure that opened and closed with lessons learned, andstories leaving the viewers with a bit of intrigue to see next weeksepisode. This continued all throughout the entire season, culminatingwith a terrific season finale.Then.....when the second season started, something was strange, It justlacked something, something I could not put my finger on. I can'tremember if I ever found out what it was, so I assume it was nothingimportant...but wait, if it wasn't important, why was it's absencemarring the show for me? I finally came to the conclusion that whathappened, was the realization that this show had nothing more to offer, because it lived it high run in the entire 1st season. The story lineswere watered on, or rather urinated on, or were just always tacky, Inever knew it until now? YES! I choose the latter! Not only was thatrevolution in motion, but the writers were obviously trying SO SO SOhard to impress the fan base at any cost, bringing out the most random, unrealistic, and unfunny material ever put on TV! What happened to thebest new show ever? I'll tell you, it was never that great, we as anaudience were so taken aback by some clever dialog and witty humor, covering up a boring premise. The five leading ladies are also whatmade me tick on it. I was in serious love with them all, at first. I continued watching the series despite the setbacks I noticed. Soonenough, I couldn't stand it anymore, and I called it quits almosthalfway through the second season. It was that irritating. I would haverather endured a root canal, than put up with a once- addictive showthat now resembles a show for pre-schoolers. Guest-stars were usuallyunfunny, and offered nothing, except Melinda Paige Hamilton as the nun,I wish she stuck a steak through Gabrielle Solis' heart, so she couldsee how black her blood was, as though it were tar. Now as I look back on the closing episodes of this repulsive season, Iam soothed by the choice of abandoning the crappy night soap before itwas as bad as I've heard it now is. The actresses are not funnyanymore, and the stories are WAY TOO EXTREME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This show has way too much going on, and it has much more fans than itwill ever deserve, and it is continuing to suck up our media economylike the foul, ridiculous, stinky, perverse Black Hole it is! I HATEthis show, and we as the people who feed it, are now robots that workto serve it with our very souls taken over, believing this filth is areality (It's not). I know most will not listen to my rants. They wouldrather enjoy watching a PLASTIC freak like Marcia Cross, and aspire tobe just like that, than actually read a book, play a tennis game, orsomething healthy. Alas, this world is corrupt. I thank you.
Wednesday nights on TV will just not be the same now that thiswonderful series has just ended. When the announcer said that a newseries would be back early in the new year I was very disappointed tohave to wait so long! Funny, tragic, touching, this superbly writtenand acted series had everything that a person seeking high qualityentertainment could want. Over the series it has been possible tobecome totally engrossed with the lives of all the characters and Ihonestly would not be able to choose a favourite. I have alreadypre-ordered the DVD set of series 1 and am sure that when it arrives,it will receive numerous viewings. Thank you to everyone connected withthe series for brightening my week and giving me a TV programme to lookforward to.
i fell in love with DH the moment it started in 2004 . it had achievedwhat no other show could do by its dark secrets . classic humor andwell plotted twists . the script is so good that it makes you believethat these characters really exist. the cast are unbelievablyentertaining .with foolish yet friendly Susan . obsessed and neat Bree, funny and adventurous Gabi . realistic and smart Lynette .plus thebelievable and charming supporting cast such as Edie , Mike ,Catherine, Felicia ,Mrs applewhite . Lee & all the actors that passed bywisteria lane. all in all the show is down in history as one of themost talked about shows on modern TV . which in return made it aninstant classic and a must see for all of those who seek good qualityTV from all ages . it is sad to see it end , i wish the best for theteam of DH and it was my greatest pleasure to watch them grow on thismasterpiece .
Unfortunately in the land of Oz, it can take us ages before we see thelatest hit television shows from the US; and before I had seenDesperate Housewives, I thought it may be along the lines of Sex andthe City, except it was set in the suburbs. However I was wrong, andDesperate Housewives is 100 times better than Sex and the City. Still Ido like watch Sex and the City.Oh yeah back to Desperate Housewives. From the first episode, you cansee that Desperate Housewives was destined to become cult TV. With mosttelevision shows, I tend to become quite bored, quite early. Yetthrough out the years; the script writers of Desperate Housewives havemanaged to maintain my interest in this fantastic show. With Desperate Housewives, they try to unmask the mysteries ofconservative suburbia. The show examines the issues of relationships, homosexuality, pedophilia; all the things that are not meant to happenon our local streets. Yet the reality is, no place within the westernworld is shielded from these issues. The success of DH is also based on the characters of the show; andthose fine ladies who are honest to their characters. The way MarciaGross has managed to capture the essence of Bree Van Der Kamp isabsolutely brilliant. The problem with Bree's Conservative facade, herson is gay, and the daughter is the girl of the town, and lets notforget how her former husband had a kinky side.By the way, it is was a masterstroke, how they casted Terri Hatcher toplay the part of Susan Myers. In short, Terri Hatcher was born to playthe part of Susan Myers. Also Gabriella, Susan, and Edie do have a function, as they are meantto appeal to the different aspects of our complex lives. By the way, mybrains nearly exploded, when Zack Young was in pursuit of Gabriella. On the whole, Desperate Housewives is a fantastic show. Again withgreat script writers, great actors, and great characters, this showwill continue through out the ages. Desperate Housewives is not so suchmuch a television show, it's art in motion.
Besides Psych and Heroes, this is the greatest show on TV. This showhas everything: a good and funny script, wonderful actresses andgossip. Lots and lots of gossip! I can never get tired of watchingBree, Susan, Lynette and Gabi, they've become a part of my daily life. There's a lot of things that this show has that other shows don't have, one thing: it being so great ALL THE TIME. Lots of shows are good forsome time, but then loses it's magic. But this show has the magic allalong.I highly recommend this show to everyone. It has everything! P.S: What do u think will happen to Lynette and her cancer?
Do not, by any means waste thirty minutes of your time on this tripe, because those are thirty minutes that could be better spent doing otherthings like, cleaning your toilet, or combing your hair. This show is (contrary to how many critics have praised it) essentiallya prime-time version of a daytime soap opera, with a very poorlyexecuted snarky sense of humor / irony. Think Sex And The City crossedwith Beavis and Butthead.I can't believe how absolutely horrible this show is.It's worthless and overrated.-Frank Viturello
I don't know what's worse about Desperate Housewives: its contempt forwomen, its shrill sense of humor, the incessant tinkle of itsElfman-esquire score, or its lame attempts at making its Backlot,Hollywood aesthetic seem as if it exists in the real world. In onescene, Susan (Hatcher) opens the door to Mike (James Denton), windblowing in her face and through her hair. You can't help but laugh, notbecause the creators mean to evoke the tableaux of a harlequin romancecover, but because they dare to suggest that air actually circulatesthroughout Wisteria Lane. Do I care how long it's going to take forSusan to crack the mystery writhing inside Betty's basement? Notreally. I'm just concerned that next season's hook is going to revolvearound an Asian family, a litter of puppies, and a box of Koreanbarbecue. Accused of hawking a lurid form of conservatism, you get asense Marc Cherry and his cohorts intend to say something profoundabout suburbia with their outmoded view of womanhood and the placesthey call home. What that message is I'm not exactly sure, and anyonewho tells you otherwise simply doesn't know sh*t.
desperate housewife's is definitely an unrealistic show, but that isone thing i love about it! who wants to watch a show that relates toeveryday life completely? another thing is, its not all about a gang ofdrunk lazy boring teenagers, but about hilarious, weird unusual middleaged women all facing a middle aged crisis, they have all beendivorces, all had affairs, have all gotten into trouble with the law!every episode is absolutely hilariously funny and leaves youmysteriously wondering what comes next, and it always surprises youwhen you find out! the man are fantastic too! they all act liketeenagers with some insane ideas like going back to school, starting aband, going to mental hospitals, all of it! i definitely recommenddesperate housewives to the whole family!
After five completed seasons, one tornado, a couple of deaths (who'dcount?), some blackmailing, two attempted suicides (one succeeded), andthree narrators later, Desperate Housewives is a title that keeps ongiving. The thrills, the drama, the humor (black often than not), it'sall there. The title that's only partly true, as the characters ofWisteria Lane, Fairview, Eagle State, USA, are not so desperate afterall. The smarts and the appeal of the show has been proved many, manytimes. The producers are at their toes to shock the viewer, who -let'sbe honest- has seen a lot in TV and is getting less and less easy to betaken by surprise. And yet, after the extra-ordinary first season, camethe next ones, also surprisingly good. It doesn't seem like it's goingto be over: the women of Wisteria Lane might be getting older andolder, but none of them are getting more -or less for that matter-desperate.
