We have taken some photos of "Johnny English Reborn (LQ)".
They represent actual movie quality.
There is no doubt Rowan Atkinson is a comedic genius, if you haven'tseen it yet, check out "Rowan Atkinson: Live" and the "Fatal Beatings"sketch in particular. He's great on television, yet, I don't like mostof his movies, I hated the first Bean movie, didn't like the second oneand I also did not like the first Johnny English. Johnny English Rebornhas some very funny moments, it's easily better than the first one,it's still not an excellent showcase for Atkinson's talents, it'sdefinitely enjoyable but for me, there weren't any big laughs, or justmany regular laughs. The jokes in the first one were so easy, andtelegraphed in such a way, that they set up the gag so obviously, you're just counting down to the predictable payoff, and there werenumerous of these, landing on the wrong building, mistaking the partnerfor the bad guy and such. Johnny English Reborn has some fresh ideas, yes, we get the old "mistaking other people for some bad guy andhurting them" which is repeated three times in this one, and that getsold, but the rooftop chase is funny and clever and completely on themoney as it satirizes the recent frantic and over the top Hollywoodchase scene, and it reminded me of the awesome but admittedlyridiculous Casino Royale chase at the building site. There are somefunny visual gags with a helicopter, and near the end we finally get tosee Atkinson doing some great physical comedy as he literally fightswith himself. Gillian Anderson and Dominic West are both good, andthankfully they do not try to be funny, they play it straight and letAtkinson provide the laughs. English has a new partner in this movie, and I liked him better than the previous one. I kind of liked JohnnyEnglish Reborn, it's definitely an improvement on the first one, no biglaughs, but I enjoyed it nevertheless, and if you want to see Atkinsonat his very best, go watch "Rowan Atkinson: Live" and see a genius atwork.
I Seen This Film 4 times this week, showing my friends and other peoplethere really enjoyed it. It A great Film, Funny and a good Storyline, but the only problem It should of been longer scenes and more time TheExtended and Deleted Scenes on Blu-Ray was interesting on the ExtrasThere is a few scenes like the extended walk though & Car Chase, andExtended restaurant should of been in feature film. The Cast well Johnny English who is Rowan Atkinson is just funny, wehave Rosamund Pike who plays Kate who is lovely and have a really greatrelationship with Johnny, we have Johnny English Daughter Lily Atkinsonthe Girl with the Crash Helmet during the wheelchair scene, AgentTucker who plays Daniel Kaluuya (who has been on TV before on BlackMirror) The Ginger lady who is on 1h:18Mins in the film she is very hotindeed (no metchen on her name in the credits)
I was so disappointed with the original Johnny English - a movie thatwas saved from being a total abomination by the genius of Atkinson -nevertheless, like many people, being a fan of the great comedic actorI gave this sequel a go but with very little expectation.Fortunately the reborn JE is an improvement on the original. Nothingspecial of course, the humorous moments are largely predictable andthere's very little original in the way of plot development, but theoverall structure and flow of the movie has a bit more going for it andAtkinson is given a better quality canvas to apply his craft (so tospeak) in terms of script, storyline and supporting characters. Worth awatch if you're into simple comedy flicks and the disappointment of theoriginal will certainly help keep any expectations low.
Well I saw this movie today Sep 23 really enjoyed it..though I'm not aregular reviewer but for this movie I will say it is worth watchingeven if you are alone!! I loved seeing Mr Bean as spy and missed theTaddy :). It was good to see the actress of X-Files Gillian Andersonafter a very long time since X File Returns and here in Johnny EnglishReborn again as some officer of Secret Services..! Here in this moviesome parts are sure good to be rated as parental guidance, though frommy point of view these are very moderate like the Johnny English underphysical training with Buddhist monks in Tibet. The part of AgentTucker(Daniel Kaluuya) is commendable. If you are planning for thismovie I'm sure you'll love it--so Enjoy your Saturday and Sunday withthis movie with your friends or children along :)
I'm amazed. TRULY amazed how high this movie is scoring. It starts okay, a few laughs here and there the first 5 minutes, butthe jokes get really old and predictable really fast. It's almost as ifthe plot was written down on one A4 sheet, handed to Rowan and thentell him "Here, try and make this funny for us" And to give him some credit, he does an okay job, I smiled a lotthinking of how that scene reminded of Mr. Bean and how much funnierthat would have been.Don't watch it in the theater! Wait until some unsuspecting friendaccidentally rents it and you have absolutely nothing else to do exceptto watch that movie and wonder how and why this got made.I'll give it a 5 for a few laughs, but I laugh more at 30s clips onyoutube.
I would really recommend you to watch this for light-hearted humour, lot of laughs and genuine entertainment (amidst movies which promiseall these but not deliver the same). The whole theater roared in laughfor most of the scenes. And in the actual stunts, it was clapsthroughout!! The story is well thought of. And there are scenes thatmake good mockery of recent James Bond movies and other Hollywoodaction extravaganzas.Rowan Atkinson is the ace of the actors, carrying the entire movie onhis shoulders and does it really well. Full marks for the effort. The heroine could have been someone as charismatic or pretty as Tashade Vasconcelos. But here there is a bit of disappointment.
For a highly anticipated sequel to the original, i was definitely notdisappointed. this film build on the original quality of a quiteBritish parody on the James Bond franchise continue here with valor.the introduction take an interesting perspective with our unlike heroin a milieu not very British, hence the call back into action. thisinventive intro make for laugh out loud humor. Atkinson acquit himselfvery well in a role destined for him to break away the Mr Bean-mania.Subtle James Bond references and in-jokes are at time hilarious. Ittake something to parody the British class system in one hilariousscene. The so-called cleverness of the spy genre is well used invarious funny scenes.although the story is at least well drawn, the support cast areinteresting. especially Daniel Kaluuya as Agent Tucker is an excellentparody on the colonialism of yesteryear. He does well in his role asdoes the excellent Gillian Anderson with a real British Accent togetherwith a typical dry British humor is stand-out. The Villains are notdeveloped enough. This one is well worth the wait and the watch. Enjoyit with anyone who like to laugh. Well done Rowan.in one or 2 scene MrBean can be recalled as well, however Atkinson does a good job of notstereo typing his role. another Sequel will be welcome if the subtlejokes keep coming. MI7 might just replace MI6!!
I really like Rowan Atkinson and most of his work. That's probably whyI expected a lot from this movie. If you're 14 years old and are intowatching corny movies with your friends this movie might be for you, ifnot AVOID! All the ''jokes'' have been done many times before and youcan see them coming for miles. It's not a spy movie(i.e. exciting),it's not a comedy(i.e. funny), it's nothing really. I got really boredafter 15 minutes and was looking at my watch through the whole movieand once again I'm really into Mr. Bean and Rowans other characters.Rowan looked tired, the film looked tired, everything about this wholemovie looked worn-out. A real shame for such a great character likeRowan but no more Johnny English please!
OK lets not beat around the bush here, you know what your gonna see andits delivered perfectly as always, heres a for instance: he walks intoa board room and an important meeting going on, there sitting on chairsthat go up and down and before it even begins you know full well hesgonna go up and down and side to side and break it, and thats exactlywhat he does in true bean fashion for a full 10 minutes.you'l have the simply Devinne awkward embarrassment i.e rugby tacklingthe queen, and you'l get your perfectly executed deluded fool way putof his league yet winging it none the less.i find that watching a Rowan Atkinson film is a lot like ordering ameal from a good restaurant - you know what your expecting, you payyour money at the door, you step inside and you enjoy it, its notamazing and its certainly not bad at all its just right.i imagine I've made it sound boring but well, who else could play thispart, Rowan is unique and I've seen him all my life, I'm not bored - ifanything its like listening to a good joke, you know it and it stilltickles you. id pay to watch a 3rd
Johnny English Reborn is a brilliantly funny movie,it kept me laughingout loud the whole way through which Rowan Atkinson always seems to do(especially as Mr Bean of course),the storyline and everything else wasaltogether brilliant.Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson) must return to M1-7 after being gonefor years working on his skills in Asia, and now a group ofinternational assassins are trying to eliminate a world leader andcause global chaos and now its up to Johnny English and his partnerAgent Tucker to stop them, but they don't seem to have the brains forthe job.
I found this film very funny and interesting, there's never a boringpart in this film. This film sees the return of the infamous JohnnyEnglish on another mission that you just know he's going to ruin.Although this film is a brilliant watch and keeps you chuckling all theway through, it is not as good as the first Johnny English film. Thisis usually the case these days with films, the first one is always thebest. The film is not too long and has a good story telling pace, nottoo fast so that you cant keep track of what's happening and not tooslow so that you feel like going to sleep. This films in the middle, just right :) If you haven't already seen this film then I recommendthat you go and see it as soon as possible. As a projectionist, I'veseen this film about 7 times already :) and I still laugh at the funnyscenes in the film. If you like all that top secret MI7 stuff with allthose cool gadgets, then you'll love this film. And plus, you get tolaugh at the the mishaps that Johnny English makes, he's such a fool :)GO AND SEE THIS ASAP ! Thank you for reading. BPH Projectionist.
I wish i could 1000000 out of 10. Trust me guys... you don't want tomiss this movie. Go for it. I believe there can't be any better morecomedy movie ever made in Hollywood or which ever --- -wood. If i loved Johnny English, then let me tell you, this movie is 1million times better than JE old.I am crazily in love with it. I havewatched that many movies that you can;t even imagine. I watch everymovie very closely. In this movie, there was not even 1 scene i couldpredict.Man.... I can't even imagine that i am so luckky to watch it.Common guys, don;t be confused at all. GO FOR IT...Crazily freakingly complete unpredicatble super awesome best comedyever made.
This movie was extremely funny. It made you laugh out loud at least 10times and the facial expressions given off by Atkins were absolutelystupendous. The only downside to it was that it was so stupid. Someparts in the movie were so dumb it made you wonder why you went to seeit. Of course this would be a great movie for children, as wheneversomeone got hurt in the movie it was somewhat hilarious. When it comes down to how much an adult would like it, i would have tosay maybe. Some parts of the movie were generated to make an adultlaugh while some to a child or a childish adult. Overall the movie made me laugh and i give it a 6 out of 10 stars for agood plot and great acting.
First of all, let me say the first Johnny English may not have beeneveryone's cup of tea. I liked it, but it didn't do too well in thestates. This one is just as funny as the last one, but will be moreappealing to people who crave an explosion or two. It's more like a fun spy movie with real action and adventure and justhappens to star a funny person--Rowan Atkinson. He's a little older andgrayer, but this movie is filled with his classic physical comedy aswell as his verbal comedy.Go see this movie and if you have a soul and a sense of humor you willlike it. If not, go watch the rum diaries or whatever. And, it's familyfriendly so take the kids.Rock on, Mr. Atkinson.
(Spoilers are only for certain scenes, not for any important marks inthe film.)Whether it's that I was a lot younger and therefore found the first onea lot more funny during first viewing or that it genuinely was awful, Ihope my review comes clear to those who need a first hand view on thesequel to Mr English's appearance. In comparison to the first film, I consider none of this to be a'masterpiece', not even the slightest.. As the film becomes less andless funny throughout, it also becomes more and more predictable inwhat's going to happen; "Take a seat, Johnny.. but make sure you don'tsit on that exercise ball that is coincidentally in shot of the cameraand you bounced up and down so the audience DEFINITELY acknowledge itspresence!", or how about the fighting scene with the monk? When themonk's psyching himself up, he turns around for a few seconds longerthan necessary, and what do you know? Johnny English has gone missing!Or even the scene in the casino, his assistant says "the Chinese manwith the spectacles", now if it wasn't bad enough that this descriptionis vague enough for anyone to see a number of people matching thisdescription, guess what? Johnny mistakes one man with another WHILSTsat between them! I felt like I was watching a cartoon. Now I don't aimto ruin these scenes for anyone, but if they weren't obvious that theywere going to happen before they did, then call me psychic. I foundmyself pulling a face to say "well, this is stupid." as well as raisingmy hand to suggest "did nobody but me really see that was coming?", butthe number of people in the cinema compared to seats free only feltlike a metaphor for the rating I'd give for the film at this point (4out of 23945873459843).Okay, it has it's funny points; the scene that made me laugh most wassomewhere near the beginning (about 10 minutes in if I rememberrightly) where he mistook some fruit sweets for a voice-changer(typical English) and the 'Susan' scene, I'll admit, that made mesmile. Yes, smile. Not roaring with laughter; a smile. It seems to methat this film only had one intention when it was being written andthat was 'Let's see how stupid we can get this', this was going roundand round in my head during the full film and it hit me towards the endthat Johnny English could've been played by nothing more than a clownhimself. The humour was limited (and even then, barely funny), thestoryline I wasn't really keen on and didn't match the first film atall (not even any references - that I'm aware of; I'm pretty sure hehad his assistant 'Boff', got a girl and became king or something? Noneof these are mentioned at all).To sum up, this film was definitely not worth seeing. I would rather Ihadn't seen it, scratch that, I'd rather they hadn't made it and leftthe first film as it ended, then I wouldn't be so disappointed about'Johnny English' as a whole.
Johnny English Reborn This Monday I had the opportunity to see JohnnyEnglish premiere, the long awaited sequel of Johnny English, which wasquite successful.Remaining faithful to the original premise, Johnny English plays MI7agent, which tends to be clumsy. However, there is a psychologicalevolution of the character, resulting from his period of spiritualdevelopment in Tibet. Older, he has less agility, but in the words ofthe spiritual leader, he "won wisdom." Thus, making use of it, tries toexpose the operation of attempted murder of the Chinese prime minister.Rowan Atkinson returns to play this character, showing more charm thanin the previous film, drinking inspiration from the first appearancesof James Bond. In fact, in my view, this is a film much closer to theline of 007 than the previous one, for several reasons. One is apsychologist from MI7, who befriends Johnny English, Rosamund Pike,Bond Girl in Die Another Day (2002), in which that film, she moves tothe villain side. Like many James Bond's fans thought at the time,Rosamund Pike gave a much better Bond Girl than Halle Berry. In thisfilm, justice is restored, and is given her a role that she plays quitewell. On the other hand, goes through various scenarios, and one of thescenarios with more climax, we have the Swiss Alps, bringing backmemories for fans of the Bond saga, created by the geographicalsimilarities with On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). With regardto mood, is a well disposed film that managed to wheedle several laughsto the public, even in scenes that tend to be more predictable. Although it contains some scenes that lack scientific rigor, and thatobviously could never happen in real life, they must be interpreted aspart of an action film and comedy, and are therefore admissible. In short, it's a good movie, great for a session to be with family, andI can only recommend to fans of the original.Note 8 / 10
Johnny English Reborn, whilst not as good as the original, it stillprovides a good source of laughter. Rowan Atkinson is not only the starbut easily the funniest person in the movie, his ability to manipulatehis face with ease has not only made him an acting legend, but it isthe funniest thing in this movie.Acting was above board and all the actors were funny. One thing i didnotice, was that Agent Tucker (Daniel Kaluuya) bore similar qualitiesto Chris Tucker in Rush Hour. There were obvious overlaps in the movie, the characters and location are both similar to Rush Hour 2.Finally, i would recommend this movie to any British person and any fanof Rowan Atkinson, but don't expect it to be as good as the firstJohnny English movie.
First off, I am a Rowan Atkinson fan. I had seen the first JohnnyEnglish movie and I absolutely loved it. Its been a while since I haveseen a good comedy movie. Most of the so called comedies these daysresort to crude jokes, mostly involving poop or genitals or peoplegetting drunk/high and doing stuff. This movie thankfully did notresort to such crude humor. After having seen the first movie, I didnot have very high expectations. The first one had me in splits every15 minutes or so. Although Johnny English Reborn does not match up tothe first part, in the parts where its funny it is "rolling on floorlaughing" funny. That said, Johnny English reborn isn't an out and outfunny movie, they have tried to infuse a story and it would've beenlike any other spy movie apart from the fact that the spy is our veryown bungling 'Johnny'. I particularly loved the following parts: 1. Thescene with Gillian Anderson's mother. 2. The scene at the briefing withthe Prime Minister. 3. The scene where he is fleeing on a wheelchair..that I thought was brilliant.. 4. The scene at the end where he isdrugged..I must say that it was a thoroughly entertaining movie and I recommendyou all to watch it..
OK, yeh that's the right word for movie. You see Mr. Atkinson (Mr. Bean) & expect something, which he delivers so so n so well (Like Mr. Bean)But the plot & other things in movie are really not that good. I wasexpecting a big plot, lots of humor, but movie doesn't show anythinglike this. Gags so called comedy scenes are old, you can easily predictthe humor. but few times in the movie, it is awesome !!!Why to see: good movie, surely one time watchable. Why Not: Not to the expectation , by story/screenplay and afterwatching First Johnny English, which was truly incredible.Final Verdict: Watchable, nothing much. Mr. Bean is surely incredible,he is the one to give credit for.
This is not to say I didn't enjoy the 2003 film Johnny English, I did.It was cute and funny with a great cast, if occasionally a little toosilly and predictable. Johnny English Reborn I was of two minds whetherit would work, it looked very funny and interesting, but I worried thatit would be too more of the same or that Daniel Kaluuya would beoverused or irritating. What a surprise! Johnny English Reborn was very thrilling and funny. Itis not flawless, while the story is more original this time around itdoes take some time to set up, part of me felt that the film could'vebeen shorter and Kaluuya's character is performed with enthusiasm ifrather annoying and imitative of Chris Tucker in the Rush Hour movies. However, visually it is striking with great locations and efficientediting and cinematography, and the soundtrack is rousing andmemorable. This time around I found the direction an improvement, glossier and more assured, and while some may find the set pieces andeffects on the slapsticky side I thoroughly enjoyed them.I found them neatly choreographed, well performed and also they showedoff Rowan Atkinson's strengths. The script is constantly lively andamusing, with some fun laugh-out-loud moments. I for one loved thecast. Rosamund Pike, Dominic West and especially Gillian Anderson areappropriately straight-faced, but it is Atkinson's(once again doingwhat he does best and playing to his strengths) show all the way, hisfacial expressions especially are a delight. All in all, much better than anticipated and one of for me one of thebigger surprises of this year so far. 7/10 Bethany Cox
