| Storyline | The Barge Inn in Wiltshires Vale of Pewsey is in a delightful location, right beside the Kennet and Avon Canal. But, like so many other rural pubs, it is in decline fights, a bad atmosphere and drugs have all contributed to its falling out of favour. But three enthuiastic local women, Bev, Emma and Polly, decide, with 400,000 from the Big Lottery Fund, to turn the Barge Inn into a decent pub properly rooted in the community. Presenter Sarah Beeny turns up every now and again to do her Beenything (the smiley-sceptic look) as volunteers clean the disgusting kitchens and organise a music festival. And thats when the trouble starts. |
